Bulk Wine Glasses Continued...

The farthest place that I’ve ever gone to sell bulk wine glasses is the Plantation House Restaurant in Kapalua, Maui. I had a really nice time with the wine manager. He was enthusiastic about all of the wines they carried. I was able to sample some delicious sparkling wines.

I made friends with the wine manager. He was from the same place as me in Georgia. We talked for a long time after my sales pitch for bulk wine glasses. We shared a dessert of Bananas Foster and talked well into the night.

The day after my new friend Conner ordered the bulk wine glasses, he invited me to share dinner with him at the restaurant. It was his night off and he wanted to treat me to a nice meal. The chef is spectacular and the menu is positively inspired.

I don’t get many Hawaiian dishes at home, so I decided to get food I’d never tried before. After looking at the menu, I realized that it would be easy to accomplish this task. Conner suggested that I start with a salad. They had several to choose from and I picked the Macadamia Nut Goat Cheese Salad with Kula Greens, Tomatoes, Kalamata Olives and a Passion Fruit Vinaigrette. The wine that I ordered came in one of the bulk wine glasses.

I really wanted to have seafood while I was in Maui. I like pasta dishes a lot and Conner suggested the Penne Pasta with Maui Tomato, Basil, Garlic and Olive Oil with Scallops. I loved the pasta. I ordered a side of Sautéed Kula Sugar Snap Peas with Chili, Garlic & Fresh Ginger. The glasses of dessert wine came in bulk wine glasses.

Conner’s shipment of bulk wine glasses for the Plantation House was set to be arriving about ten days after my departure. I was fortunate to have one other date with Conner. I appreciated the great food at the restaurant. He was so generous to buy me another meal.

The next meal that I ate with Conner at the Plantation House Restaurant was chosen by him. He wanted me to try one of the traditional house entrees. The entrée he chose was Roasted Muscovy Duck Breast & Confit of Duck Leg with Sundried Cherry Pinot Noir Sauce served with Scalloped Potatoes. The champagne that he ordered for us to toast our new friendship was served in bulk wine glasses.

I have never had such a successful business trip as the one I took to Hawaii. I’ve had other restaurants order more bulk wine glasses, but I’ve never made such a good friend. Conner has come to Los Angeles where I live now and visited me several times since our first meeting.
