Our Halloween party was so much fun. The kids enjoyed the skull cupcakes and the Vampire Punch. The adults enjoyed the Tomato-Politan Martinis. I got several notes from kids thanking us for having them over to decorate plastic wine glasses. Several of the adults commented on what a unique party favor the plastic wine glasses turned out to be.
The next time I entertained with plastic wine glasses was for my cousin’s Christmas wedding. My cousin was getting married on Christmas Eve and I had an engagement party for her at my house. My cousin, Amber, wanted to do a lot of the decorating work herself with crafts.
I found some mini plastic wine glasses to put bird seed into. I had some friends over and we covered the glasses with tulle and tied them up with red ribbons. My daughter thought that she could help with decorating as well and decided to paint snowflakes on the plastic wine glasses.
She invited over some friends and made quite an event out of it. She prepared mini crescent sausage links and bacon wrapped pineapple for her friends. She seemed so grown up to me putting out all of the supplies she needed to paint the plastic wine glasses.
The plastic wine glasses were put next to the champagne punch at the wedding reception. My daughter was so proud to have contributed. I was pleased with how elegant the wedding was. I could see that Amber had put so much work into the planning and execution of it.
My daughter really got into the decorating of plastic wine glasses. She asked me if she could have a New Year’s Eve party and I agreed. I told her that if she planned the guest list, I would contact all of her friend’s parents and invite them to come as well.
She was very excited and we went to the craft store for decorations for the party. She said that she wanted to design and decorate all by herself. She bounced ideas off of me and I helped her shop for what she needed. She had me buy about forty plastic wine glasses.
Her best friend came over the weekend before the New Year’s Eve party and they decided to paint confetti on a lot of the plastic wine glasses. They had so much fun. They decided to make a Mexican fiesta for the food and had nachos and bunuelos.
The plastic wine glasses ended up being the perfect party favor. I enjoyed having the girls over for New Year’s Eve. New Year’s Day, the girls all helped me clean up the house and we all went for a great walk in the park.
