In 1927, the United States Glass Company has a subsidiary company in Tiffin, Ohio. This company had many factories, but they all specialized in the creation of glassware for our home use. Usually, glassware is stamped with the initial of the factory it was produced. In this case, Tiffin glassware wound have had the initial “R” to represent that specific factory. However, the company decided to instead use the word Tiffin: the city of the glassware’s origin.

Maybe you do not understand what makes Tiffin glassware patterns so special. This glassware pattern is simply gorgeous and amazing. There are a few specific types of Tiffin glassware patterns that have been made popular over the years.

One popular style of Tiffin glassware pattern is seen in the Cherokee Rose. The name of this glassware represents a specific, beautiful etching on the fine crystal. This design is number 17403 for the Tiffin Company. The etching looks similar to a group of 3 to 4 small roses with baby’s breath used as a filler. This design usually has one big one, then two smaller such designs over the top of each other, repeat. All such glassware has a stem that is beautifully decorated and has a top and bottom ring of beaded glass.

Another popular design was the Tiffin Rose AKA Ramblin’ Rose Tiffin design. As with the Cherokee Rose, this design got its name from the rose etching pattern on the finest crystal. These roses are not bunched or evenly spaced. This design has more of a random rose pattern. The stems are trademark Tiffin and vary according to the piece. While Tiffin did have many colors they used for their glassware, it is not known whether this popular design came in color.

Tiffin glassware patterns were made popular in the 20s, 30s, and 40s. Tiffin Company was extremely popular because of the simply beautiful and elegant etching and glass design. In addition, Tiffin glassware was extremely affordable in its day. Today, Tiffin glassware ranges according to the piece. However, a Tiffin goblet usually ranges around $30 USD per piece. This is by no means a guideline, just a rough estimate.

Tiffin glassware patterns have gained in popularity and many other companies have simulated these particular designs. If you have ever seen a Tiffin glassware pattern, you will understand why imitation is truly flattery.
